Girls Taking Time Checks (1904)    0 Stars

Girls Taking Time Checks, a three-minute film of female Westinghouse workers clocking in (or out), is much more interesting than it really has any right to be, simply because it is a study of women in all their forms. People-watching is always fascinating, and woman watching is usually enjoyable, and the speed with which these young women pass in front of the screen seems to enliven them somehow. They’re nearly all smiling and happy as they pass in front of the camera (so maybe they’re clocking out) and they’re all extremely well turned out. It’s also interesting how trim they all appear, not one chubby lass among them – no doubt a sign of the more austere times they lived under.
